Watton, UK – EXHEAT Ltd is pleased to announce that it has further acquired contracts to supply four more electric process heaters at the Aasta Hansteen topside project, operated by Statoil ASA.

EXHEAT has designed and will be manufacturing several process heaters for the project, including:

  • 2812kW, Ex e Heating Medium Heater
  • 1600kW, Ex e Fuel Gas StartUp Heater
  • 1350kW, Ex e HVAC Hot Water Heater
  • 375.5kW, Ex e Fuel Gas Heater

The project will see both EXHEAT and engineers responsible for the Aasta Hansteen facility working closely to design heating solutions that will be customised specifically to function efficiently even with the challenging environments of the offshore platform.

This latest heater package is also the second set of heaters EXHEAT has supplied to the platform. The manufacturer of electric process heaters also delivered three electric reboilers and one surge drum heater for the Aasta Hansteen project earlier this year.

The Aasta Hansteen spar is the first structure of its kind in Norway, and is currently the world’s largest structure to contain gas condensate. The spar is located 300km off Norway’s coast and will be tethered north of the Arctic Circle to the seabed 1300m below.
