EXHEAT supplies four 20.94kW Cast Heaters and Thyristor Control Panels to Malikai Oil Field

EXHEAT, one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of electric process heaters and associated thyristor control systems for both Non Hazardous and Hazardous Areas, has today announced it has supplied four 20.94kW Cast Heaters and Thyristor Control Panels to the Malikai Oil Field project.

The Malikai Oil Field is situated on Block G offshore Sabah, Malaysia in a water depth of 1,854 feet (565 meters). Shell serves as the operator and holds a 35% interest; ConocoPhillips holds 35% and Petronas holds the remaining 30%. The platform will be designed as a fully manned platform and will have facilities to process 60,000 b/d of oil and 1.4 MMcm/d.

EXHEAT's range of cast aluminium line heaters provides an effective heating solution for constant flow liquids or gases, eliminating the requirement for a costly pressure vessel. Particularly in high pressure applications, or when exotic process materials are required, the FP Cast range can provide significant commercial advantage. The design incorporates electric heating elements and an indirect process heating coil imbedded within marine grade cast aluminium. This provides excellent heat transfer properties combined with low surface temperatures.
