EXHEAT Successfully Passes ATEX and IECEx Surveillance Audit by LCIE

16 Aug 2013

EXHEAT, one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of electric process heaters and associated thyristor control systems for both Non Hazardous and Hazardous Area equipment, is pleased to announce it has successfully passed the LCIE surveillance audit of its Quality Management System and products manufactured against the Ex requirements. Ex areas are areas where flammable liquids, vapours, gases or combustible dusts are likely to occur in sufficient quantities to cause a fire or explosion. These areas will also be known as Hazardous Locations, Hazardous Areas or Explosive Atmospheres. Equipment used in Ex areas is termed Ex Equipment.

The LCIE audit was in relation to EXHEAT's ATEX and IECEx certifications. As of July 1st 2003, compliance with the ATEX Directive is a legal requirement in all European Union Member States for equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The IECEx Certification applies to all electrical equipment meant to be functioning in potentially explosive atmospheres.
